I hope you have tried the acupressure points on the hand. Let's continue with this discussion of self help with constipation moving onwards to the abdomen.
Abdomen
There are many points on the tummy to work on. Here, I choose to begin with a popular acupressure point situated between the navel and pubic bone. More specifically a distance of three fingers below the navel which is called Conception Vessel 6 or CV6.

Again from the navel a distance of three fingers to the left and to the right. These points are called "Tian Shu Xue" in Chinese. From these points go three fingers downwards, you come to another set of points called "Da Ju Xue".
It is said that pressing these points can relieve bloatedness. I happened to read another book on Chinese "Guasa" method and notice that "Tian Shu Xue" is among the points in the "Guasa" procedure to help with constipation! More on this later.
Back
Now I'd need to turn my back on you literally to show you my favourite acupressure points.
On my pelvic bone, two fingers from the backbone, I lay my back with bend knees on my knuckles. Then I use the weight of my legs to lean on the left and right knuckles alternately. This posture may not look flattering but Ooooh....is this really a relief for constipation? It feels more like a great relief for my backache as well. LOL. For me , this is killing two birds with one stone.
Do you know there are constipation points on the human body? I'm surprised to learn about them...in fact, they are touted as "the effective point" . To locate them, feel for the lowest rib bone. It's easy for me because I'm darn skinny. ( chuckles)
It's very easy to stimulate these points just stand with your arms akimbo, like an angry teacher, press the thumbs and do a little twist simultaneously.
Don't forget to breathe, relax and with practice, you may get to enjoy giving yourself acupressure and providing the body's needed help with constipation.
