Essential Oil in a Relaxing Hot Bath

To Relieve Constipation?

essential oils

The list of essential oils for this purpose is long, varied and like most constipation remedies, is made up of inconsistent stories. Everyone has their own version.

To illustrate my point, here's some examples:

1. A blend of rosemary, mandarin and other citrus oils to stimulate peristalsis by massaging on the abdomen. Then using 5 drops of these oils in an aromatic bath. After the bath, you can tonify your digestive system by massaging lemongrass combined rosemary with marjoram to ease cramping. That’s according to ehow.com.

"I seriously wonder how many of us can afford to buy so many types of essential oils and have the hours to go through those procedures? If you are a lady/man of leisure who can afford the $ and time, good for you. I’d rather skip this. I don't have the extra $, time and PATIENCE."

2. A Taiwanese book discussing the therapeutic benefits of home spa baths recommends 4 drops of rose and 4 drops of lavender in a 20-minute hot bath as a "gentle and surprisingly" effective constipation relief.

"This suggestion sounds easy, but I have never tried it in an ordinary bath tub. Since I have a whirlpool bath, I cannot resist stirring up the water because the water massage is so darn nice!"

3. Do I need to cite more? Black pepper oil, anyone?

I don't adhere to any formulas, I just use whatever oils I happen to have . I don't know if it's the oils or the whirlpool that helps more but all I can say is, my BM is regular whenever I take a spa bath regularly. Bath oils I think can play a pleasant small part to relax the dear bowels. Enjoy it, don't be obsessed.
